The CD cover shows two older gents standing on the west bank of the Bosphorus looking eastward toward Asia. Also known as the Istanbul Strait, the Bosphorus forms part of the boundary between the European part of Turkey and its Asian part. The world's narrowest strait used for international navigation, it connects the Black Sea with the Sea of Marmana which is connected by the Dardanelles to the Aegean Sea, and thereby to the Mediterranean Sea. Inspired by recent attempts to unify parts of the east and the west, the first song on the album, Eastern Delight, accented by eastern instruments, describes the woes and issues in trying to bring together different cultures and value systems. The song focuses on the influence of fringe groups on the perception of a country or region as a whole, and features a lead singer of Persian descent.
“Eastern or western, what’s the divide?”
